I have a cast iron bacon press that I left in the sink soaking overnight and now it has all that orangy stuff on it and I can't wipe it off. I don't know what to do to get it off.

scrub w/ a metal coil or copper coil scrubbie or Brillo or whatever. Then dry & oil it w/ cooking oil. Let sit & check it out. it may need more coats of oil…mite want to do a search for removing rust from cast iron.
Good advice so far about cleaning and seasoning press. Now to keep that from happening again—Never soak or use soap on your cast iron, press, skillet etc. Just washing with hot water will work fine. Cast iron cared for like this will become better and better, like non-stick cookware with time and use. Good luck
get a steel brush at a dollar store, scrub off all the rust, then rub cooking oil or bacon grease all over it, bake it in the oven for a few minutes for the grease to melt into the pores and stop further rusting
Wash throughly and rinse. Rub cooking oil on it and Bake it in the oven on the highest temp for 45 mins to 1 hour. Let cool. Will come out better than new!
Use a scrubby and then wash with disp soap and dry with a dishtowel immediatley.
