When flat ironing hair,how long does it take for the straightening to wear off?

I asked because today I was planning on doing my BC because i was transitioning and all week i've been flat ironing my hair even my new growth & i didn't want it cut that short jus because it was straight & appeared to be relaxed so how long does it take for the straightning to wear off?
